Setting up your Vision homepage
The Vision homepage is built in Shopify’s theme editor using drag-and-drop sections. Vision has the most content-rich default homepage of all Fuel themes, with a wide variety of editorial and commerce sections. This article walks you through the key sections to customise first so you’re not overwhelmed by the full layout.
Opening the homepage editor
Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize. The homepage loads by default. All your homepage sections are listed in the left panel — drag them to reorder, click the eye icon to hide, or click the + button at the bottom to add a new section.
Key homepage sections
Vision’s default layout has over 20 sections. Focus on these first:
| Section | What it does |
|---|---|
| Slideshow | Full-width hero banner with up to 5 slides. Each slide supports a heading, subtext, and CTA button. |
| Promotion Blocks | Editorial image tiles with overlaid text — use for featured categories, seasonal campaigns, or brand stories. |
| Collection Tabs | Tabbed product grid for browsing multiple collections without leaving the page. |
| Collection List | Collection image tiles for navigating your full product range. |
| Media Grid | A flexible grid mixing images, video, and text blocks — great for editorial homepage content. |
| Featured Collection | A product grid from a single collection you choose. |
| Image With Text Slideshow | Sequential image and copy slides for brand storytelling. |
| Toggle Boxes | Expandable accordion-style content blocks — use for FAQs, size guides, or feature explanations on the homepage. |
| Customer Reviews | Displays product reviews as homepage social proof. |
| Featured Blog | Your latest blog posts. |
| Text With Icons | Icon + text pairs for your USPs. |
Where to start
- Slideshow — Replace placeholder slides with your hero images (1920 × 1080 px). Vision’s clean typography works well with both full-bleed photography and more minimal image styles.
- Collection Tabs / Collection List — Connect your main collections so the homepage reflects your real product range.
- Featured Collection — Point this at your best-selling or most representative collection.
- Promotion Blocks — Add editorial imagery for 2–3 featured campaigns or categories. Vision’s Promotion Blocks section is particularly versatile — it supports mixed layouts and looks strong with strong photography.
- Text With Icons — Update USPs to match your store’s actual offer.
- Customer Reviews — If you have existing product reviews in Shopify, these will pull through automatically.
Vision’s full demo has many sections enabled by default. It’s perfectly fine to hide sections you don’t need yet — click the eye icon next to any section in the left panel to hide it without deleting it.
