Setting up your Reformation homepage
The Reformation homepage is built in Shopify’s theme editor using drag-and-drop sections. Reformation is designed for visually led brands — the default layout puts imagery and editorial content front and centre. This article walks you through the default layout and the key sections to customise first.
Opening the homepage editor
Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize. The homepage loads by default. All your homepage sections are listed in the left panel — drag them to reorder, click the eye icon to hide, or click the + button at the bottom to add a new section.
Default homepage sections
The Reformation demo ships with the following sections pre-configured:
| Section | What it does |
|---|---|
| Slideshow | Full-width hero banner with up to 5 slides. Each slide supports a heading, subtext, and CTA button. |
| Collection Tabs | Tabbed product grid for browsing multiple collections on one page. |
| Gallery | An image grid for lifestyle photography, lookbook content, or seasonal campaign imagery. |
| Featured Collection List | Multiple collection image tiles side by side — helps customers navigate your product range. |
| Featured Collection | A product grid from a single collection you choose. |
| Shop The Look | A styled image where customers can click on a product tag and add items directly to their cart. |
| Countdown Banner | A full-width section with a countdown timer — use for flash sales, product launches, or limited offers. |
| Rich Text | Centred text block for a brand statement or mission copy. |
| Testimonials | Customer quotes in a carousel layout. |
| Featured Blog | Your latest blog posts. |
| Text With Icons | A row of icon + text pairs for USPs: free shipping, returns, guarantee, etc. |
Where to start
- Slideshow — Replace placeholder slides with your strongest brand images (1920 × 1080 px recommended). Reformation’s bold typography means even simple slides with a single full-bleed image and one-line heading look great.
- Collection Tabs / Featured Collection List — Connect your main collections so real products and category images appear.
- Shop The Look — Add a styled image and tag the products in the look. This section drives basket size by encouraging multi-item purchases.
- Text With Icons — Update USPs to match your store’s offer (shipping threshold, returns window, etc.).
- Countdown Banner — If you have an active promotion, set the countdown end date and add your offer copy. If not, hide this section until needed.
